We have hundreds of turn-of-the-century sewing machines! As the Industrial Revolution and the sewing machine shifted the industry from couture to ready to wear, each machine was created to duplicate a specific function or stitch previously done by hand. These machines include multi-needle, blanket stitching, elastic shirring, machine smocking, tucking, rolled blind heming, baby heming, fish wire hems, purl merrow edging, fagoting, figure eight fagoting, hem stitching, picot edge, and so much more. Our talented technicians can often modify these machines by tweaking them or creating custom attachments to create unintended and beautiful new possibilities.
Smocking (Flat & Elastic)

Wire Hem (Fish Wire)
Tucking (Pin, Cord, & Multi)
These machines are so special! A hand guided multi directional “steering wheel” under the table of the machine guides the needle in any direction, creating a row of chain stitches with a hooked needle. The other hand moves the fabric under the needle in any direction you push it. These machines are European at their core but play a big part in the creation of Americana, having given birth to Western chain stitch embroideries, the Chenille varsity letter and intricate military style cording. We have over 10 machines, some with an elevated bobbin in a post allowing us to get into tight corners of most finished garments.
Chenille (Moss Stitch)
We offer a large variety of hand work including, but not limited to: hand beading and sequins, tambour, ari & zardozi, gold work/bullion, shadow work, english smocking, needlepoint and other threadwork, custom fringes, saddle stitching, couching, crochet, macrame, and much more. We also offer services such as hand distressing, hand finishing, hand placing hot fix elements, or hand attaching applique or patches to finished garments or accessories. We can help you source or custom develop any materials or elements you might require.
We can create traditional handmade passementary such as bobbin lace trims, rosettes, gallons, gimps, braids, twists, plaits, pompons, tassels, frogs, loops, knotted buttons, covered buttons and more.
We have four traditional lasers, the largest having a bed that can cut the full width of a bolt. Our fifth and most prized laser is our metal laser and engraver. We haven’t found an alloy we can’t cut through! These five machines not only aid in the obvious applications like laser cutting intricate shapes for bonding or applique, but they also allow us to create custom sequins and elements in a wide variety of materials from PET, rubber, latex, wood, shell, acrylic, metal and more.
We can cut your fabric into any size bias or straight grain strips flat, or with a single fold or double fold, or in spaghetti. You can use our bias yield chart to determine how much fabric you’ll need to provide to produce the desired amount of finished goods.
Looking for the belt for your new trench style or custom woven webbing, we’re here to help!
We have 5 turn of the century pleating machines for accordion, side, and combination pleats in running yardage. Our large library of pleating patterns can help with individual panels for sunburst, pineapple, basket weave, box pleats and so much more. If we don’t have the pattern in house, we can custom develop one just for you.
We have robotic crystal printers that will place your stones with exact precision. If your design is very large or requires many sizes or colors we can hand place your motifs and then permanently heat fuse them to your fabrication. We can source crystal for you from popular vendors such as Swarovski or Preciosa as well as pearls, nail heads, and novelty hot fix elements.
Sublimation: Sublimation is the process of transferring ink from paper to fabric via heat. We can print running yardage in vibrant color. This works best on bright white synthetic fabrics.
DTG: Digital Direct to Garment printing can sometimes be superior to screen printing and is faster, easier, and more sustainable. The white inks are opaque and the colored inks are translucent, allowing us to print on any color fabric. Low pile natural fiber fabrics work best for digital printing.
Heat Fusible Vinyl: We stock a wide variety of heat fusible vinyls including matte, shiney, gittler, 3M reflective, 3D Vinyl, and Flocking. We can also custom print a specific Pantone color or logo with our vinyl and flocking printer.
